HawkIRB and Oncore/ICTMS Integration Enhancement

Directly impacting: Studies that have indicated "yes" to HawkIRB question V.22 for the use of Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center (HCCC) resources, patients, etc. or HawkIRB question V.27 indicating the use of the Iowa Clinical Trial Management System (ICTMS).

Change:  Effective 9/3/24,  HawkIRB will automatically push all UI research team members listed in section II of the HawkIRB application,  as well as their identified staff role as documented in question V.28, to OnCore at time of initial application submission. The 'start date' will be reflective of the data the team member is first pushed into the Oncore system.

Note: Research activities cannot begin by any research team member until the form has had IRB approval issued.

This is a change from the old process where research team members were only pushed into the Oncore system at the time of application release in HawkIRB. Any staff changes or additions to the HawkIRB application, during the HSO\IRB review process, will update automatically at time of application release.  If you need staff added in Oncore after IRB submission but before application release for eReg purposes you should Email:

This change allows for automatic syncing earlier to eliminate manual entry.  This change also promotes consistency across all electronic systems and helps to streamline the set up process.  HawkIRB remains the source of truth for all IRB approved research team members regardless of IRB of record.
