A warm welcome to the Human Subjects Office (HSO) website.  We look forward partnering with you in the protection of human subjects.  The HSO works with a number of Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) committees here on the University of Iowa campus to review human subjects research.  The HSO website is a tool to guide you through the human research protection program process. On the HSO website you will find:

• information on how to get started when conducting human subjects research
• educational offerings, office hours, IRB newsletter, and more to help you navigate the process
• assistance in submitting to the IRB

The HSO also has information for research subjects and the general public about participating in research.
