Mitigating the COVID-19 Impact on Research Activities

The University of Iowa is closely monitoring the coronavirus and associated COVID-19 disease, and plans are in place to anticipate, minimize, and adequately manage its potential impact on campus life and operations. Regular updates about the virus, health resources, travel restrictions, and more are available on the University of Iowa’s web site for coronavirus.  The Office for the Vice President for Research has also created a Research FAQ

The Office of the Vice President for Research emailed faculty on March 6 about its efforts to support researchers during this challenging situation and is working closely with its grant administration, safety, and compliance units to coordinate its support for labs, core facilities, and other research assets and activities.  The Human Subjects Office also emailed all researchers on March 12 with information on how to prepare contingency planning to support the conduct of human subjects research.

Please don’t hesitate to contact our unit with any questions or concerns related to our areas of responsibility and we’ll do our best to address them.
