Changes in Human Subjects Research regulations - effective 1/21/19 [1]

The Human Subjects Office\IRB has issued a detailed explanation of regulatory changes affecting research occurring at the University of Iowa [2].  As of 1/21/19, the Human Subjects Research (Common Rule) regulatory changes [3] outlined under §45 CFR 46 [4] have gone into effect for all new and pending research submitted to the University of Iowa IRB for review.  A 2019 SOP and Investigator's Guide [5] has been released to capture these changes.  If you have any questions on how these changes affect your research, call (319) 335-6564 or email irb@uiowa.edu [6] the Human Subjects Office.
