The Faculty Advisor plays an essential role in the learning experience of Student Researchers.  According to Institutional Review Board records, there are currently 320 University of Iowa faculty members currently serving as the advisor for nearly 700 studies with graduate or undergraduate students, residents or postdoctoral fellows serving as the Principal Investigator.  This presentation is offered in response to requests from Faculty Advisors for guidance on how to serve in this capacity.

This session will provide best practices for Faculty Advisors. It will also highlight resources available from the Human Subjects Office/Institutional Review Board to help Faculty Advisors provide the guidance Student Researchers need to conduct their human subjects research projects.

Take elevator B to the 2nd floor; take the hallway to the West at the compass.  The HP Smith conference room is at the end of the hall on the left side, past elevator BW.
